3DXTECH CarbonX PEEK CF20 is a PEEK grade containing 20% carbon fibre. It is intended for stiff engineering parts that combine the properties of the PEEK base with substantial fibre reinforcement. It requires high-temperature FDM processing and is treated as a separate formulation.
Possible development tasks include loaded brackets, process aids, fixtures and lightweight supports. Fibre reinforcement is particularly relevant when deflection needs to be limited. Wall thickness, ribs and the direction of applied forces are considered together during design.
More fibre does not automatically improve every component. Layer bonding, notch sensitivity and toughness must suit the load case. The specific CF20 product and its data sheet are checked before approval; values from CF10 or other PEEK-CF formulations are not substituted.
