Formlabs Black Resin V5 is a general-purpose SLA resin with a rich matte black colour. It combines a smooth surface and fine detail with balanced mechanical properties. This makes it particularly useful for models intended to communicate the appearance of a finished product.
Typical applications include enclosure shells, controls, containers and design prototypes. Small lettering, edges and transitions can be reproduced clearly. In addition to presentation, printed samples can help evaluate installation, fit and the handling of an assembly.
V5 is a distinct material generation for the Form 4 system. Washing and post-curing affect the resulting properties. Orientation and support locations are planned around visible surfaces; more demanding functional parts also require assessment of the loads on the specific design.

Suitability depends on geometry, orientation, print profile and material condition. Drying, annealing, or washing and post-curing are material- and profile-specific. Material data do not certify a part.
