SLA

Formlabs Silicone 40A Resin enables direct 3D printing of silicone parts. With a Shore hardness of 40A, it produces soft, bendable components with pronounced elasticity. Custom shapes can be developed without first making a casting mould.

Application examples include bellows, soft grippers, protective pads and seal prototypes. Complex contours and tailored contact surfaces can be produced directly from a digital design. This makes the material particularly useful for rapid iterations and developing small quantities of functional silicone components.

Material-specific cleaning and post-curing are essential to the finished result. For seals and grippers, contact geometry, deformation range and the surrounding medium also matter. Resistance and function are assessed for the intended application; the material alone does not establish leak-tightness or a particular service life.

Limitations and post-processing

Suitability depends on geometry, orientation, print profile and material condition. Drying, annealing, or washing and post-curing are material- and profile-specific. Material data do not certify a part.
